We offer a range of completely flexible short breaks for people with disability and their families and primary carers, tailored to meet individual needs and choice through a combination of centre based, in-home, social and recreation activities, holidays and camps.
Centre based Respite
We have a centre based respite house, Kimbarra, at Kotara where people can come and stay overnight, for a few days or for extended stays while family carers have a break.
Kimbarra, is a home-like, comfortable, spacious, fully wheelchair accessible house with an inviting outdoor courtyard for outdoor recreational and leisure space.
Short breaks at Kimbarra, give people the opportunity to make friends, try new activities or learn new skills whilst maintaining their usual routine such as going to work, attending appointments or leisure activities with the support from our staff.
If people would prefer a break from their usual routine, we work with other local organisations and offer as many different opportunities as possible, tailoring what’s on offer to what people want to do.
In Home Respite
We are able to offer respite support in your home for a set period of time to suit. This may be for a few hours, overnight or a few days. Our staff will maintain the full range of support and assistance that is provided to people in their own home and maintain their normal routine.
Holidays
We can support people to go on a holiday overnight, for a few days or week. We can offer both supported small group holidays and individual holidays to various destinations throughout Australia.
Supported holidays are a great way for people to participate in social and recreational activities outside their normal day to day activities; spend quality time with friends and have loads of fun.
